The Mimram

To Hertingfordbury

Beneath the A414

The Mimram exits Panshanger Park via a bridge beneath the A414. The bridge is as ugly as any concrete road bridge and a twist in the river’s course has attracted detritus but the light can be interesting.

Clear of the bridge, there’s a view across the pasture to Hertingfordbury with its collection of pretty cottages, handsome old houses, and conversions.

The river rushes under the village street to the mill and then into the final mile of its independence.
